Distracted By Star Wars - because there is no better distraction from your day than from a galaxy far far away!
DBSW is a showcase for all of the great Star Wars related items that I find on the web. Currated by r2witco, this site is in no way associated with © Lucasfilm Limited and has nothing but the greatest respect for George "the maker" Lucas and the amazing universe he has created.
Awesome simple illustration of Death Star II by Rich Arnold (@Deadeye_Dick). It even has the diameter, surface area and volume printed at the bottom in case you need an idea of how large to build your own! Hah

A Small Announcement - as told through Science Fiction // by jjhays
Jennifer and Jeff have something they wanted to share with everyone…and because analogies make things easier and Jeff is an admitted Star Wars dork…they thought this might be appropriate. Well done folks, and congratulations!

Little Known Facts - VII - The Death Star
by thebubblegumgang:
Most people know that James Cameron built a full-scale replica of the Titanic for the filming of his 1997 blockbuster. However, what most people don’t know is that George Lucas built a full-scale replica of the Death Star for the filming of the original Star Wars trilogy. Lucas’ replica was built exactly to scale; over 160 kilometres in diameter with a fully operational superlaser, 123 hyperdrive field generators and 768 tractor beam emplacements. It’s destruction was filmed in a one-take opportunity for the end of A New Hope when Luke Skywalker and the Rebel Alliance successfully destroy the Empire’s ultimate weapon.
I’m not sure what thebubblegumgang is smoking to come up with this stuff, but I want some!

Adidas Originals Death Star Superlaser Application
A fun little promo from Adidas that uses your IP address to figure out where you or your friends are. It then shows Vader and the Death Star crew targetting your location to blow you away! I just watched Oakland, CA get taken out by the super laser. Check it out for yourself here.

Might not be fully operational, but not bad for a first attempt.
